Saturday morning at 07:42!
Received a call from Alvaro. No connection at all! Called the ADSLsupport line: " They open at 08:00! ". What a service! Don’t forget, communications in Costa Rica is a state monopoly! Open 24 hours for customer support! No chance! And why would they do that? Why would they care? There is no competition!
08:07
I reached the ADSL customer service. I talked with Alonzo! Nice guy! Believe me it is not always like this! Most of the time they don’t care! Very helful person. Reset the modem and I don’t know why!
08:14
I was back in business!
Gee!

08:05 Avenida Secunda, the main access street to the cybercafe, is closed. That means business is down! Reason?? A new president is officially starting his funtions. For that, they need to close half of the town! How much time will it be like this??
Will see!
12:45 Finally back to normal! Income: 70% less! I have to live with that! This is part of the advantage and inconvenient to have a cybercafe in the hearth of…everything! Most of the time..good, sometimes bad bad!

I just received a phone call form Fabio, one of my employee. They are closing Avenida Secunda completely in preparation of the inauguration of the new presidency. A new president will begin his work Monday the 8th of May 2006.I don’t know what they are doing! Practicing!
Well! This is bad bad news for me! You see, the location of the cybercafe is in the hearth of San Jose. Really! This has his advantages ..most of the time! But on these special occasions, it is a pain in the neck!
No sale at all from 19:00 to 23:00!
Sometimes…..grrrr!

W hat do you do on a holiday, when everything is closed, and you do not have connection? Who you’re going to call! Well in Costa Rica, everything is not simple. You see you have something called : " Semana Santa" in Costa Rica. Everybody goes to the beaches but for those that have a business to run, that could become quiet challenging!
